Toshiq Azam left Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form in 2020.
He had A*BB grades in Film Studies, English Language and Law, and a passion for telling stories that tackle the human condition.
Just five years later that passion has led him to become a Lighting Trainee on the Warner Bros. Discovery CrewHQ programme, taking masterclasses from experienced industry professionals and preparing for his first placement on a Warner Bros. production.
Talented Toshiq landed a scholarship to study for his Independent Filmmaking degree at Futureworks Film School in Manchester, and has now moved to London for his dream career.
He explains: “I go wherever the opportunities are. I knew I had always wanted to work in films but I didn’t expect to make it until my mid 30s as it’s usually quite a long journey.”
Toshiq says he has “nothing but fond memories” of his time at Central Saint Michael’s.
After graduating Toshiq developed his soft skills by being a part of various programmes such as the BFI Academy, BAFTA Netflix Mentorship, Gallery37 Programme, and the MAMA Youth Project.
He also expanded his technical knowledge by working on numerous commercial projects and feature films.
Stay tuned to catch where Toshiq’s exciting film career takes him next!
