CHOOSING YOUR COURSES

Applied Science Diploma with an Art A Level? No problem.

We can recommend combinations but in theory you are free to do any combination you want! You just need to do a combination which adds up to the equivalent of three A Levels.

So, three A Levels or Applied subjects, eg Applied Criminology/Applied Law/Applied Psychology
Or one Double Diploma (worth two A Levels) plus one A Level or Applied subject
Or one Extended Diploma (worth three A Levels)

The Young Professionals Academy

Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form offers the Young Professionals Academy which consists of students studying 1-2 A Levels alongside a Level 3 career-focused diploma. This results in a balanced academic learning experience with students gaining a practical understanding of their chosen career.

The Young Professionals Academy allows you to:

  • Study in a way that suits you
  • Get equipped for the world of work
  • Focus on the career you know you want

We believe that the Young Professionals Programme will make a real difference to future student employability because it is career-focused. Undoubtedly, it is also an alternative route to university degree courses which are focused on preparing students for business, professional and industrial careers.

It’s important that the A Level you study supports or complements the Diploma that you choose, so we offer eight structured Diploma ‘pathways’ that make sure the two elements match each other but still give you a broad choice of subjects. Pick one of the Diploma ‘pathways’ and then select one subject from the accompanying list of A Levels. NB: You must have the entry requirements of that subject.
