Inspiring Insights From JLR Degree Apprentices

Our motivated students from Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form had the fantastic opportunity to glean inspiring career insights during British Science Week from three engineering degree apprentices from the prestigious JLR team, each offering honest, practical advice about breaking into competitive industries.

– Anogin Vishuvanathan encouraged students to apply widely to build confidence with applications and interviews. He highlighted the power of using your unique experiences to stand out authentically and show employers what makes you memorable.
– Adrien Jean emphasised the importance of a tailored CV that reflects the qualities employers are seeking. He also reminded students to use the STARR method (Situation, Task, Action, Response, Reflection) to structure strong, reflective interview answers.
– Harrovian Luke Smedley shared how crucial it is to communicate genuine passion for your chosen field. Demonstrating how you engage with the industry in your own time can make a powerful impression on employers.

A huge thank you to Anogin, Adrien and Luke for sharing their journeys and empowering our students with actionable, real-world advice. Opportunities like these help our learners see what’s possible and take confident steps toward their future careers.
