Creativity Showcased In Students’ Nominated Short Films

Promising young filmmakers at Central Saint Michael’s Sixth Form have been commended by the judging panel in this year’s Eduqas Moving Image Awards.

The awards recognise and celebrate the best moving image productions from students undertaking WJEC Eduqas qualifications in Film and Media across the UK, providing talented students the springboard they need to stand out in their university applications and during the beginning of their careers.

Star alumna Mya Kandola, now studying at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London, was nominated for her five minute Short Film Beautiful Stranger. Assata Andrews and Ruvimbo Nyahunde were also nominated for their two-three minute Film Sequences.

The judging panel commended the high quality of the production work by both learners and teaching staff.

Opportunities like this reflect the strong support, teaching and industry-focused learning that help students build confidence and progress towards their future goals.
